Reading Notes: Mahabharata: Karmic Revolution Part A

Part A: 

Shantanu: King Shantanu a beautiful river goddess who he asked to marry. She agreed but only if her actions would never be questioned. This is because she would later drown 7 of his children keeping the 8th and taking him away. 

Devavrata:  The eighth son of Shantanu. Ganga brought Devavrata back to Shantanu and he became a prince. However he gave his father permission to married a woman promising that if they had child, it would be the next leader. 

Bhishma: Devayrata made a vow that he would never marry or bare children. He did this to fulfill his fathers happiness by giving him the opportunity to marry the woman he wanted to. Because of the vow Devayrata made, he then became known as Bhishma (he of the terrible oath). Seeing this sacrifice that his son had made for him, Shantanu gifted his son a boon, this boon would be Bhishma's ability to pick the time of his death. 

The Throne of Hastinapur: Bhishma wathced over the throne until his half brothers could take over. When the first half brother had the throne he was killed passing it on to the younger half brother. This younger brother had no wife, so Bhishma went to find one for him. Kidnapping 3 sister Princesses to complete this task

Amba: The eldest Princess sister begged to return to the man she loved and Bhishma released her. Amba was rejected by her love and was forced to return to Bhishma. She begged then that Bhishma marry her so she would belong to someone, but due to his vow, Bhishma declined. Amba furious vowed that she would lead to the end of Bhishma. She sought someone to help but no one would, except one. This one,  Parshuran was unable to defeat Bhishma and the fight between them ended. Amba left but still sought out a way to cause Bhishma's death. 

Satyavati: The wife of Shantanu and mother of the previous two kings had a secret that would save the kingdom from ending. She had another son, an older son, who could become king. Vyasa came when his mother called for him. He then was asked to father children to lead Hastinapur.

The Sons Vyasa: The son of the first queen was destined to be blind because she kept her eyes closed during conception and the second queen's son was destined to be pale because she had been scared and turned pale during conception. Then Vyasa had a third son with a servant, this son would be destined to never have the throne.

Dhritrashtra's Wife: Dhritrashtra became the king, however his younger brother ruled the kingdom. The future wife of Dhritrashtra decided to blind herself permanently because her future husband was blind and she vowed to follow him.

Introduction to Me!

Hello! My name is Brooklynn and I am currently a Freshman, sophomore, and junior at OU. Beginning the summer before my junior year of high school I began taking concurrent classes at Northern Oklahoma college, in order to get some of my basic courses out of the way. By the time my senior year rolled around I was on track to actually receive my associates degree 20 days before my high school diploma. In March of 2020 my plans, as well as everyone else's, took a turn. The dreaded COVID took away both of the days I had worked so hard for. Although both of my graduations were taken away from me, I still finished the year and received my degree in Biology Pre-Med, I then went on to attended OU. Being that this year was my first year of college out of high school, I began as a "freshman",  starting with 60 credit hours classifying me as a junior, and changing my major to Psychology Pre-Med now puts me as a sophomore. End of the World: Pixabay Population Control: The year is 2070. The world's population is 12 billion and continues to grow. The United States government was overthrown only a few years prior and all of their secrets have been released. A cure for cancer had been found in the year 2011 only to kept away, But that wasn't the only population control plan found during the revolution. The United States had been poisoning us for years, causing the human lifespan to be drastically shorter than it could. Once all of these measures were stopped the death rate dropped drastically and the human lifespan increased by what is estimated to be 50 years. But now we are running out of room.
