Time Strategies

Time management has been a REALLY big goal of mine for this upcoming semester, a new year resolution of sorts. Last semester I, like many other college students, struggled with procrastination. I would consider myself a "good" procrastinator because regardless of my procrastination I -almost- always get what I need to do, done, but I put myself through unnecessary stress in the process. Looking back I realize that last semester could have been a lot easier, and it also could have taken up significantly less time, had I created a schedule other than the famous "day of due date".

The first article I read was The Psychology of Checklists. This article stuck out to me because I love checklists. I use checklists everyday because they make me feel productive, and it is the easiest way to not miss an assignment. This article helped me understand the reason behind why I enjoy my checklists so much and it also showed me that I have at least one good time management skill.

The second article I read was Eat The Frog First Thing in The Morning. This article had a really good message. As someone who sleeps in a little bit too much and procrastinates a little bit more, I took this message to heart. I think eating the frog first, and maybe even waking up earlier to do it, will be very beneficial to me and I hope that by setting up a schedule that uses this tip I will be able to follow it and succeed.

By the time my senior year rolled around I was on track to actually receive my associates degree 20 days before my high school diploma. In March of 2020 my plans, as well as everyone else's, took a turn. The dreaded COVID took away both of the days I had worked so hard for. Although both of my graduations were taken away from me, I still finished the year and received my degree in Biology Pre-Med, I then went on to attended OU. Being that this year was my first year of college out of high school, I began as a "freshman",  starting with 60 credit hours classifying me as a junior, and changing my major to Psychology Pre-Med now puts me as a sophomore. All very confusing, I know! I have always been the type of pe
